Jim Blackburn: The Story Behind Blackburn Manufacturing

Former CEO and President Jim Blackburn shares how Blackburn Manufacturing began in a farmhouse basement in 1953, centered around a single machine his father built by hand.

What started as a small marking flags operation on a Nebraska farm grew into one of the leading USA manufacturing companies in the industry, now producing flags and signs for customers across the United States, Canada, and beyond.

Jim's story embodies the spirit of American manufacturing: innovation born from necessity, a family's commitment to doing things the right way, and a company that grew by listening to its customers. We're honored to share his words and grateful for the legacy he and his father built.
